Re-Elect Bob McOmber At-Large City Council |
Bob graduated from BGSU in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Business Administration with a major in Finance. While at BGSU, he earned 8 varsity letters on the University's cross country and track teams which consistently finished among the top ten teams in the NCAA.
After graduation from BGSU, he attended the University of Michigan Law School from which he graduated in 1976. Bob returned to Bowling Green in 1977 as an Instructor of Finance at BGSU. In 1979, Bob went to work for Owens-Corning Fiberglas where he worked through 1992 in both the corporate finance and law departments.
When the Bowling Green public schools suffered through a financial crisis in the mid-1990's, Bob decided to run for the Bowling Green City Schools Board of Education. First being appointed to a vacant seat, Bob served on the Board from 1996-2001. During his time on the Board, the school system enjoyed an almost $10 million improvement in its financial situation.
For eight years, from 2001 to 2009, Bob taught part-time in the Legal Studies Department at BGSU.
In November 2005, Bob was elected to an At- Large position on Bowling Green City Council. As the current economic climate has affected the City's finances, Bob's experience with financial analysis and management have been and will continue to be an important assets in helping the City weather these difficult times.
Bob and his wife, Becky, have one son, Luke.
